Service Description

Join us for 2 filled days of learning new skills and brushing up on existing ones. Both the Spoon Carving on the Saturday and Camp Set up Skills on the Sunday can be attended as stand alone days. Please see their booking listings for details. A great way to acquire CPD hours and brush up / learn new skills. Ideal for all Forest School leaders, Scouts/Guides. Saturday will refresh and greatly improve your knife skills. As a bonus you get to take your own hand carved spoon home :-) This beginners / intermediary course will enable you with the skills and knowledge to confidently carve your own spoon. Learn in a relaxed, friendly and chilled day around the fire. This day is also suitable for children aged 16+ when accompanied by a parent. Content:- Timber choice, grain orientation Tool safety and sharpening Safe carving techniques All tools and materials included The Sunday is packed full of hands on Camp set up skills. This full day includes fire skills / cooking on an open fire. Personal and group shelters inc. lots of useful knots and time saving tips n tricks. How to set up a zipline along with different types of easily made ladders. Lunch cooked on the fire is included both days along with a kettle for tea always on and the coffee percolator bubbling. Would you like to camp the night before or after your day? Our woodland is more suited to hammock camping but we do have a few suitable tent spots. We also offer ' glamping experience ' in a 4m Tipi with full catering options. Please get in touch for more info.
