Join us for a fantastic Weaving weekend with the hugely talented Kate and Alan from Westcountry Willows based in Roscommon. Either the Saturday and Sunday can be attended as single days. Please see the booking form for details. Join us for a two-day adventure in willow weaving and craft your own handmade baskets! Who is this course for? This course is perfect for anyone, from complete beginners to those looking to refine their skills. If you've ever admired a woven basket and wondered how to make one yourself, this is the course for you. What will you learn? Hosted by West Country Willows, this workshop immerses participants in the ancient art of basketry. You'll learn the intricate techniques needed to transform willow rods into two beautiful and functional baskets. Day One: You'll start by creating a versatile fruit or bread basket. Learn the art of weaving, randing, and adding finishing borders. With guidance from Kate and Alan, you'll uncover the secrets of crafting this essential household item, honing your skills with each precise and creative weave. Day Two: Next, you'll craft a shopper basket with an elegant handle. This indispensable accessory will be woven with love and expertise. You'll explore advanced weaving methods, perfecting your technique to create a sturdy and stylish shopper. Ready to weave your own baskets? Join us and discover the joy of basketry!" tea / coffee and lunches included both days as well as all tools and materials. Camping on the Saturday night is available for people booked for the whole weekend. We also offer fully catered ' glamping ' in your own private Tepee. Please get in touch for details.
