Join us for a fantastic day with the hugely talented Kate and Alan from Westcountry Willows based in Roscommon. Who is this course for? This course is perfect for anyone, from complete beginners to those looking to refine their skills. If you've ever admired a woven basket and wondered how to make one yourself, this is the course for you. What will you learn? Hosted by West Country Willows, this workshop immerses participants in the ancient art of basketry. You'll learn the intricate techniques needed to transform willow rods into two beautiful and functional baskets. Saturday: You'll start by creating a versatile fruit or bread basket. Learn the art of weaving, randing, and adding finishing borders. With guidance from Kate and Alan, you'll uncover the secrets of crafting this essential household item, honing your skills with each precise and creative weave. By the end of the day you'll have your own hand made basket to take home. Ready to weave your own baskets?
