  • Where are you based?
    We are in the beautiful private mature woodland in Gormanston College Demense, very close to Balbriggan. 4 mins from junc 7 on the M1, bus routes outside , a 15 minute walk from Gormanston train station. We do also run sessions from schools and different locations if suitable.
  • What exactly do you do?
    We offer many different Forest school activities, Camps, Birthday parties, Bushcraft courses, School trips, Tailored corporate days and Primitive life skills courses. For a detailed description of these, please see our info sections.
  • What should my child wear and bring to Forest school?
    Clothes suitable for the weather, bear in mind how easily the weather can also change! A small bag with a change of clothes, a snack and water. There's a good chance of getting mucky so clothes that wont mind this please. No open shoes or sandals and covered legs.
  • What ages do you cater for?
    For Forest school activities, normally 5-11 years. We tend to do more advanced Bushcraft with secondary school aged children. Our specific Bushcraft sessions and courses are normally 18+ although older children are welcome when accompanied by an adult for certain courses. Please get in touch about an individual event if you're not sure.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Cancellations must be made prior to commencement of any camp / session block / course and will be subject to a forfeiture fee. A 50% cancellation fee if less than three weeks advance notice, 75% of the fee if less than 7 days notice. People failing to arrive on the day without prior notification will be responsible for the entire cost of the booking. No refunds will be made once a camp / session block / course has started. Places aren't permitted to be swapped unless agreed in advance. Although highly unlikely, we reserve the right to change or cancel any activity if deemed necessary. You will be refunded minus 5% to cover admin and booking fees. Should we have to cancel due to severe weather conditions which are beyond our control (only dangerously high wind or extreme cold ) we will try our best to accommodate with another date. If this isn't possible, a voucher on pro rata will be offered against another block / camp. Should a camp / session block be cancelled early for any reason other than weather a pro rata refund will be given reflecting the day / days missed. We will retain 5% to cover admin and booking fees.
  • Can you run a course at my school/ location?
    Absolutely, we work in several schools and in suitable locations close by to them. Ross is also one of the Heritage Councils Heritage in Schools specialists. This scheme part funds visits to primary schools. Please see the Heritage Council banner below for more info. We also guest instruct throughout the country and collaborate on different courses. please get in touch for more info.
